Investment Angels

I have been reading a lot about Investment Angels, but where are they. The only place that they seem to be found is in sites that require an upfront fee to join in the hope that you will find one on that particular site.

The problem with that is that I would think that the majority of people in need of investors don’t have the sort of money that these sites require to join. Another thing is the people requiring investors have already spent every cent they had on trying to get their project off the ground.

Let’s face it, you wouldn’t be looking for an investor if you had the money to continue with your project, and it is a big risk to spend $1,000 up front in the hope of finding an investor. If there really are Investment Angels out there why can’t the fee be charged when the deal in completed.

It doesn’t seem very angelic to me to ask for fees in advance with no guarantee of success. Don’t Investment Angels browse the Internet looking to do their good deeds?

Why do they need to register on a website that is obviously set up with profit as their only motive.

Don’t get me wrong, we all need to make a profit, but I hesitate to spend money in advance in the hope that you might get a ticket in a raffle, and then you have to hope that you win the raffle. Do you get my drift? Let me pay a bigger fee after you find me an investor.

The Investment Angel websites will tell you that they have to get paid upfront because of all of the work they have to do to help you find an Investor. I am not asking you to do my financial plan, business plan, my tax or anything else other than introduce me to an Investor and let me do the selling.

Let me give you an example: – A lovely little lady called Elvira Loquias is looking for someone to invest in her newly approved Tourist Park in Katherine in the Northern Territory of Australia. She needs an investor because costs have blown out; it has taken so long to find the tradesmen to do the job that their prices have gone up.

It is all a matter of supply and demand, the tradesmen know that there is more work than they can handle so they just keep putting their prices up. Elvira had allowed $300,000 for the development, now she needs another $300,000 to complete the project. You might say that she didn’t plan it very well, you are wrong; the price of materials and labour has doubled in the last 12mths.

If an Investment Angel is out there, be an angel to this angel. Elvira’s Paradise will double your money in a very short time. On completion of Elvira’s Paradise your $300,000 investment will be worth $500,000, not only will you have 33% of the freehold you will also have 33% of the business.
